Grow Romaine Right from the Refrigerator

The above were planted directly into the ground. They were in my refrigerator! I chopped off the top part and planted the bottom! Hey there! Ready to become a romaine-growing expert? Here's the scoop: First, save the bottom inch or two of a romaine lettuce head you've recently used. It should have a nice, solid core. Next, place that sucker in a jar or glass with about an inch of water in it. Then, watch as the magic happens! Change out the water every couple of days or so, and make sure the bottom of the stalk stays submerged....
